ABIGAIL PERRIN

Executive Director 

Abigail Perrin is the Executive Director of Nuestro Futuro Foundation, and in her role she emphasizes the importance of connection, collaboration, and belief in the catalytic possibilities of effective philanthropy. Abigail received her B.A. from UH Manoa and her M.A. in Philanthropic Studies from The Lilly Family School of Philanthropy IUPUI. On behalf of the Nuestro Futuro Foundation, she serves on the Advisory Board for the Funder Hui and as co-chair for the Food and Farmer Funders Working Group. Abigail also serves on the board of Hawaii Public Radio, Nurturing Wahine Fund, and White Opal Foundation.

LEHN HUFF

 Lehn Huff has lived on Maui for the past 40 years and joined the Nuestro Futuro Board in November 2019 as the Board Secretary. Ms Huff taught history, political science, economics, and ESL at Seabury Hall, an independent college prep school located in upcountry Maui, for 31 years. Mid-way through her tenure at Seabury Hall she started the Middle School there and spent her last 21 years at Seabury Hall as the Middle School Head. She retired from Seabury Hall in 2008 and served as the Interim Executive Director of the Sustainable Living Institute of Maui at UHMC in 2009 for six months followed by the establishment of her own initiative, the Maui School Garden Network (MSGN) in 2010 in order to helped to promote aina education on school campuses. In 2019 MSGN merged with Grow Some Good and changed its name to the Maui Farm to School Network. There are presently 35 schools in the network and over 8,000 students actively engaged in garden learning. Ms. Huff is a member of the Hawai’i Farmers Union United and the Maui County Farm Bureau and has worked at the state level with the Hawai’i Farm to School and School Garden Hui. She holds a BA in International Relations from the University of Hawaii with a Core Curriuculum in East Asian Studies, an MA in Chinese History and Anthropology from the University of Hawaii, and an MEd and ABD in Curriculum and Instruction from UCLA.  She has presented at numerous state and national conventions on topics including Women in Sustainability and 21st Century Learning.

A firm believer in the transformative power of community, Maile proudly holds her alma mater as UH Manoa. Nestled in Haiku alongside her husband, she is the enthusiastic cheerleader behind her four daughters.

Driven by a passion for community development, Maile finds joy in getting intimately acquainted with and supporting various facets of her local community. Her commitment to fostering strong bonds and enriching community life reflects a deep understanding of the interconnectedness that defines a thriving society.
